London-based children’s food specialist Lune & Wild has secured £2 million in a Series A funding round to increase production capacity and expand its commercial footprint.
The investment injection was led by Guinness Ventures, alongside participation from industry specialists including Dr. Rupy Aujla and corporate chairperson Doug Struthers, who formerly served as managing director at Ella’s Kitchen. Additional financial backing was provided by previous investors Charlie Gardiner, Siân Parry Jones and Harry Bloice, the former commercial director at Butternut Box. Lisa F., Malcolm King and Bernice Brooks from the Guinness Ventures team also supported the transaction.
Established in 2021 by cousins Lara Rodgers and Nadia Simonds, the startup seeks to challenge traditional convenience-driven baby food models that rely heavily on extended shelf lives and elevated sugar content. The firm produces organic, chef-crafted meals formulated alongside paediatric dietitians to manage macronutrients and micronutrients for early childhood development. The business utilises raw ingredients obtained via Soil Association certified suppliers.
The company employs a workforce of more than 30 people, offering structural remote working policies designed to accommodate childcare requirements. Operationally, the firm functions through a mixed business framework incorporating a direct-to-consumer subscription service, physical deli listings, farm shops, family clubs and 15 independent nurseries situated across London and the Home Counties. The company recently entered the mainstream supermarket sector via an online listing with Ocado.com, which has cleared internal sales targets since its debut last month.
Financially, the premium brand has doubled its annual corporate revenue every year since its initial launch. Over the past 12 months, the company has sold more than one million individual meals and maintains a 4.8-star consumer rating on Trustpilot. To manage its ongoing commercial scaling, the business recently appointed former Little Moons and Proper chief executive Mike Hedges to its board of directors, working alongside advisors Katie Cazaly and Harry Trick.
Lara Rodgers, co-founder of Lune & Wild, commented, “From day one, we’ve believed that children deserve better food. Food that’s full of flavour, made with care, and genuinely supports their development. This investment allows us to take our mission and products further, without compromising on the quality and craft that got us here.”
Nadia Simonds, co-founder of Lune & Wild, said, “We’ve built Lune & Wild in close conversation with parents, understanding the real challenges they face and creating food that genuinely helps. With Guinness Ventures and our existing investors behind us, we’re excited to scale that impact and reach many more families across the UK.”
