Rael, the women’s wellness company founded in 2017 by three Korean-American women, has secured a strategic investment from TowerBrook Capital Partners to support its next phase of growth.
The terms of the investment have not been disclosed. The partnership will focus on expanding Rael across retail and other channels, increasing its global reach and continuing product development across its women’s wellness portfolio.
Led by Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Yanghee Paik, Rael began with a focus on period care and has since expanded into skincare and hormonal wellness. Its products are developed with an emphasis on what the company describes as better-for-you ingredients, drawing on Korean beauty and wellness innovation.
The company is headquartered in Los Angeles and has an office in Seoul, with its products now available through more than 40,000 retail locations across the US and Korea. Its retail network includes Target, Walmart, Ulta Beauty, CVS and Walgreens in the US, as well as Olive Young in Korea.
Rael has also developed a broader approach to women’s wellness around what it calls holistic cycle care, with products designed to support women through different stages and phases of their lives.
The new partnership with TowerBrook is expected to support further retail expansion, product innovation and consumer education around holistic cycle care. The company will also continue developing its portfolio as it looks to reach more women internationally.
“Women deserved better choices in period care,” said Paik, explaining the thinking behind Rael’s founding. That initial focus has since developed into a wider wellness proposition spanning feminine care, skincare and hormonal wellness.
TowerBrook said the partnership builds on its experience supporting emerging consumer brands through periods of significant growth. The investment firm described Rael as a differentiated women’s wellness brand with a strong relationship with its consumers.
As part of the transaction, John Replogle has been appointed Chair of Rael’s Board. Replogle previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Burt’s Bees and Seventh Generation and led Unilever’s North American skincare business. He will work alongside Paik and the wider leadership team as the company moves into its next phase.
Rael had raised $59 million in funding prior to the TowerBrook investment, according to BeautyMatter, which also reported that the company expected 2025 full-year revenue of between $125 million and $150 million.
The latest investment comes as the women’s wellness market continues to expand beyond traditional period care, with consumers increasingly looking for products addressing a wider range of health and wellbeing needs.
