DBN and GAIN launch entrepreneurship masterclass to empower 350 women in Nigeria

The Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) and the Grand Africa Initiative (GAIN) have introduced the third edition of the ‘GAIN Entrepreneurship Masterclass for Women’, designed to empower 350 female entrepreneurs throughout Nigeria. This program offers participants vital skills to expand and enhance their businesses through an extensive six-week virtual training course.

DBN emphasized that the program was carefully crafted to meet the specific challenges faced by female entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The bank highlighted its commitment to providing targeted support in areas such as financial literacy, strategic marketing, business modeling, legal considerations, organizational structure, customer management, branding, and more. This comprehensive approach aims to empower participants to leverage the opportunities within Nigeria’s expanding economy fully.

Dr. Tony Okpanachi, Managing Director/CEO of DBN said, “At DBN, we believe women entrepreneurs are vital to Nigeria’s sustainable development. This partnership with GAIN reaffirms our commitment to supporting women-led MSMEs by providing them with the necessary knowledge and financial empowerment to succeed. The masterclass offers not only high-quality training but also networking opportunities and mentorship from seasoned global experts.”

The initiative is in line with the overarching goals of DBN and GAIN, aimed at empowering African women and youth through essential skills and resources for sustainable economic development. Both organizations are committed to fostering the growth of MSMEs in Nigeria by tackling financing challenges and enhancing capacity-building efforts. Through the masterclass, female entrepreneurs throughout Nigeria will acquire valuable knowledge and support to elevate their businesses, contributing to economic advancement in the region.
