The nation achieved remarkable progress in artificial intelligence (AI), excelling in empowering women in AI based on the female-to-male ratio. The Kingdom has also made significant strides in AI employment growth, attracting talent, and developing advanced AI models.

Saudi Arabia rated 1 in the world in terms of empowering women in artificial intelligence, demonstrating the effectiveness of ambitious national policies and efforts targeted at increasing women’s participation and leadership in the technology sector. This result is consistent with Saudi Vision 2030 and is backed up by sophisticated training programs and professional development efforts that have increased the presence of female talent in the Kingdom’s AI ecosystem.
The Kingdom ranked third globally in AI job growth in 2024 and fourth in the number of advanced AI models. It is one of seven countries that have published cutting-edge AI models, alongside the United States, China, France, Canada, and Korea. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is placed eighth worldwide for attracting AI talent, showcasing its growing reputation as an innovation hub and its ability to create a stable and supportive environment for AI research and development.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) is driving Saudi Arabia’s global AI leadership goals as part of Vision 2030. SDAIA focuses on enhancing national AI capabilities, creating supportive policies, encouraging investments, and fostering innovation. It also aims to expand digital infrastructure and accelerate AI adoption in key sectors.
SDAIA has launched initiatives to empower women, including the “Elevate” program with Google Cloud, which aims to train over 25,000 women in technology and AI. Specialized training camps and capacity-building programs prepare Saudi women to lead in AI locally and globally.
