One Detroit Credit Union appoints first female, African American CEO in a historic move

One Detroit Credit Unio names Portia Powell as its new CEO as Hank Hubbard retires after 34 years with the institution. She will come to power in January 2025.

In a historical context, Powell has rewritten the norms by being the first female African-American CEO to lead One Detroit Credit Union since its inception around 90 years ago. She is a seasoned leader with two decades of experience in finance under her belt.
