The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) has inaugurated its new Sustainability Governance Academy, marking a significant step forward in promoting sustainable finance expertise in the region. This pioneering initiative aims to go beyond compliance, assisting companies in achieving both profitable and sustainable growth through comprehensive sustainability governance.

The Academy builds on the success of HKCGI’s ESG Reporting Certification Course, which has already seen significant participation. Graduates of this course will now have the opportunity to join the Academy and be recognised as HKCGI-accredited specialists, equipped with the knowledge to meet ESG and sustainability standards.

Launched at the HKEX Connect Hall, the Academy’s objective is to foster long-term value creation by integrating sustainability considerations into business operations. It will serve as a crucial platform for sustainability professionals to share best practices, gain new insights, and drive forward the agenda of sustainable business development.

With its strong focus on education, advocacy, and community engagement, the HKCGI Sustainability Governance Academy aspires to become a major influencer in shaping governance regulations and practices, both within Hong Kong and on an international scale. This initiative underscores the importance of sustainability in today’s business landscape and aims to position Hong Kong as a leader in sustainable finance.
