Addressing the unique health needs of women during midlife and beyond, the Cleveland Clinic unveils its latest initiative, the Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center. Designed to fill gaps in our understanding of women’s health concerns, this innovative program offers a centralized hub for accessing all health services.

Renowned journalist Maria Shriver, known for her work in Alzheimer’s research, now leads this pioneering center, aiming to drive breakthroughs in women’s health. “Our nation needed a first-class comprehensive women’s health center, and now we have one,” Shriver remarked.

Reports indicate that 80 percent of women aged 55 and older suffer from at least one chronic condition. The center will provide specialized care in areas such as behavioral health, breast health, cardiovascular care, maternal health, weight management, and menopause.

Cleveland Clinic’s Chief of Staff, Beri Ridgeway, emphasizes the significance of this endeavor, stating, “This is a game changer.” Patients will benefit from connectivity to reliable health information, group appointments, research opportunities, and tailored care.

Accessible to patients in Ohio and Michigan initially, the center plans to expand its reach to Florida in the near future. With a focus on access, connectivity, education, and research, the Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center aims to empower women on their health journey.
