PayBy, a prominent fintech player under Astra Tech, has launched a pioneering POS machine in the UAE that is set to transform the payment landscape. This cutting-edge device stands out as the only one in the region to integrate both QR code and payment link generation directly from the terminal.

The new POS solution enables merchants to create payment links and QR codes on the spot, effectively merging online and offline payment methods without the need for additional portals. This development addresses a significant challenge faced by over 450,000 UAE merchants, who often grapple with managing multiple payment systems and reconciling online and offline transactions. According to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and supported by Visa’s survey, 65% of these merchants struggle with these complexities, highlighting the urgent need for more efficient solutions.

The POS machine by PayBy supports a wide array of payment methods, including bank cards, Alipay+, WeChat, Botim Wallets, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and NFC payments. This extensive compatibility ensures that merchants can accommodate a broad spectrum of payment preferences, both local and international.

Abdallah Abu-Sheikh, Founder of Astra Tech, remarked on the launch: “At PayBy, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to meet the evolving needs of our customers and simplify their payment processes. Being the only merchant acquirer in the UAE to offer payment links and QR codes directly from our terminals is a significant milestone. This integrated online and offline solution provides our sector-diverse merchants with the flexibility and efficiency to operate seamlessly within the UAE’s complex market.”

The direct generation of payment links and QR codes not only streamlines payment operations but also enhances security and customer satisfaction. This feature represents a notable advancement in how merchants can manage payments, positioning PayBy as a trailblazer in the fintech sector. Furthermore, PayBy’s commitment to integrating globally recognised payment options, such as WeChat Pay, underscores its focus on enriching the payment experience for international customers, including Chinese tourists.
