Manashi Guha has taken up the role of Country Managing Director for L’Oréal Malaysia and Singapore, returning to Southeast Asia after senior leadership positions in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The appointment took effect on 1 September 2026. Guha succeeds Tomas Hruska, who had led L’Oréal’s operations in Malaysia and Singapore since 2022 and has moved to the role of General Manager for Poland and the Baltics. The appointment was reported by InFashionBusiness on 14 October.

Guha brings more than 18 years of experience at L’Oréal, having held positions across India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the wider South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa region, and the UK and Ireland.

Her career at the company has covered sales, marketing, consumer products and general management, giving her experience across different markets and business functions.

From the UK and Ireland to Southeast Asia

Before taking up the Malaysia and Singapore leadership role, Guha served as Chief Growth Officer for L’Oréal UK and Ireland, a position she held from November 2024 to August 2026, according to InFashionBusiness.

She previously served as Managing Director of the Consumer Products Division for the UK and Ireland, overseeing a business focused on consumer beauty brands across the two markets.

Her earlier responsibilities included leading L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division in the South Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa region, commonly known as SAPMENA. She also held senior business and marketing roles in Indonesia, Malaysia and India.

The move brings Guha back to markets where she has already held leadership responsibilities. Her earlier experience in Malaysia and Indonesia gives her direct familiarity with Southeast Asian beauty markets, while her work in the UK and Ireland adds experience from a different retail and consumer environment.

A Career Spanning Sales, Marketing and General Management

Guha joined L’Oréal in 2008 as Head of Key Accounts. Since then, she has progressed through roles involving sales, marketing and business leadership.

In India, she held the position of Vice President of Marketing for the Consumer Products Division and other roles across the company’s consumer beauty business. She subsequently moved into leadership positions in Malaysia and Indonesia before taking on broader regional responsibilities.

Her work in SAPMENA included leading the Consumer Products Division across 15 subsidiaries, according to published industry coverage. She later moved to the UK, where she became Managing Director of the Consumer Products Division before taking on the Chief Growth Officer role.

Before joining L’Oréal, Guha worked at General Mills, Lotte Confectionery India and Avalon Consulting.

Her progression reflects a career built across commercial operations, brand management, marketing and leadership in multiple markets.

Malaysia and Singapore Under One Leadership Structure

In her new role, Guha will oversee L’Oréal’s operations in Malaysia and Singapore.

The two markets have different characteristics within the regional beauty business. Malaysia offers a larger domestic consumer market, while Singapore has an established role as a regional business centre.

Industry publication Marketing-Interactive reported in September that L’Oréal viewed the combined markets as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, share best practices and respond to changing consumer trends.

For beauty companies, maintaining a consistent international brand while responding to local consumer preferences remains an important management challenge. Consumer behaviour, retail channels and product preferences can vary considerably between markets, requiring companies to adapt their commercial and marketing strategies.

Guha’s experience across Asia and Europe gives her exposure to several of these market environments. Her previous responsibilities in consumer products and growth also span different stages of the customer journey, from brand development and marketing to commercial strategy.

An International Leadership Career in Beauty

Guha’s appointment adds another international leadership role to a career spanning several markets within one of the world’s largest beauty companies.

Her experience includes responsibilities at country, division and regional levels, alongside work in both established and developing consumer markets.

The Malaysia and Singapore role places her back in Southeast Asia, where she previously held business leadership positions before moving to Europe.

As she assumes responsibility for the two markets, her background across consumer products, marketing and general management will form part of the experience she brings to L’Oréal’s regional operations.

For Women’s Tabloid, Guha’s career is a story of international progression within the beauty industry, shaped by experience across countries, business functions and leadership levels.
