UN Women to open an office in Uzbekistan

UN Women’s representative office is all set to open up in Uzbekistan. This move is supported by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and UN Deputy Secretary General and Executive Director Sima Sami Bahous, who is visiting the country.

The UN Delegation along with UN Deputy Secretary General and Executive Director Sima Sami Bahous is visiting Uzbekistan as a part of the Asian Women’s Forum program, which was held in Samarkand.

UN Delegation and the President of Uzbekistan expressed great satisfaction with the productive results of the Asian Women’s Forum, emphasizing the importance of turning it into a lasting platform for discussions about advancing women’s rights across Asia.
