Oman Air and SalamAir have joined forces through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that sets the stage for an array of cooperative initiatives. The MoU, which was officially signed by Captain Nasser Al Salmi, the Acting CEO of Oman Air, and Captain Mohammed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, is poised to revolutionize various facets of their partnership within the realm of air transport.

The agreement entails a comprehensive framework for collaboration, geared towards optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing the overall passenger experience. This strategic partnership aims to streamline key areas of mutual interest, including destination planning, flight schedules, inventory management, air fleet operations, revenue generation, and sales management.

Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Air, emphasized the pivotal role this MoU will play in synergizing the efforts of both companies to enhance the allure of Muscat Airport. By seamlessly integrating their operations, Oman Air and SalamAir are set to expand the horizons of reachable destinations, aligning perfectly with their shared commitment.

Addressing the press, Minister Al Ma’awali underscored the MoU’s potential to bolster passenger traffic at Muscat Airport while concurrently amplifying the market presence of Oman Air and SalamAir within and beyond Oman’s borders. Notably, this landmark agreement marks the inaugural step in Oman Air’s comprehensive recovery strategy, as per the government’s announcement.

Anwar Mohammed Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SalamAir Company, emphasized the profound significance of this MoU, characterizing it as a mutually beneficial stride forward for both entities in the dynamic aviation sector. By placing a distinct emphasis on improved passenger services and the mitigation of unfavorable competition and potential losses, this collaborative initiative is poised to redefine industry standards.

Al Rawas, speaking to reporters, shed light on the earnest endeavors underway to establish robust cooperative mechanisms, forming the cornerstone of this partnership. A core objective is to proactively address and preempt the accumulation of losses, thereby charting a sustainable path forward. Remarkably, the MoU emerges as a strategic enabler aligned with the ambitious aims of Oman Vision 2040.
