Meet Wipro’s New CFO: Aparna Iyer

Wipro recently announced the appointment of its new CFO Aparna Iyer. With nearly two decades of experience at Wipro, Aparna has held various key finance roles and has been instrumental in driving financial strategies that have contributed to the company’s growth and success.

A Diverse Journey:

Aparna’s journey at Wipro began in 2003, and since then, she has embarked on a remarkable career path within the organization. She has held positions in Internal Audit, Business Finance, Finance Planning and Analysis, Corporate Treasury, and Investor Relations (IR). Her diverse experience has provided her with a holistic understanding of Wipro’s financial landscape, making her a strategic asset to the company.

Leading Wipro FullStride Cloud:

One of Aparna’s most recent achievements was serving as the Senior Vice President and CFO of Wipro FullStride Cloud, a rapidly growing business segment within Wipro. In this role, Aparna oversaw the finance operations for this global business line, playing a crucial role in its success. Her ability to navigate the complexities of finance in a fast-paced and competitive sector highlights her exceptional skills and leadership.

The Treasury and IR Role:

Prior to her role in Wipro FullStride Cloud, Aparna served as the Corporate Treasurer and Head of Investor Relations for Wipro Limited. In this capacity, she took on responsibilities that were essential for the company’s financial health and stakeholder relationships. Her role encompassed building and executing a robust forex risk management framework, prudent investment of surplus cash, effective working capital management, customer credit risk evaluation, and driving capital allocation decisions. Aparna also managed the balance sheet exposure while fostering strong relationships with investors and analysts.

Strategic Forex Management:

One of Aparna’s standout accomplishments was her contribution to Wipro’s forex strategy. Her expertise in this area significantly enhanced the operating margin performance of the company. Her strategic approach to forex risk management not only protected the company from market fluctuations but also allowed it to capitalize on favorable exchange rates, ensuring financial stability and predictability.

A Gold Medalist Chartered Accountant:

Aparna’s impressive academic background adds to her credentials. She is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and achieved the distinction of being a gold medalist in the CA 2002 batch. This educational achievement reflects her dedication and commitment to excellence, qualities that she brings to her role as Wipro’s CFO.
