The new PBV model is expected to simplify user experiences with ‘Easy Swap’ technology, allowing a single vehicle chassis to serve multiple mobility needs. For instance, a PBV can function as a taxi during the day and transform into a delivery van at night by integrating interchangeable upper bodies or life modules.

Kia has outlined three phases for the PBV roadmap: Phase one involves introducing the Kia PV5, a versatile EV suitable for various domains such as hailing, delivery, and utilities. Phase two will focus on enhancing PBVs into AI mobility platforms that interact with users using data, ensuring vehicles remain up to date. Finally, phase three will see PBVs evolving into highly customizable mobility vehicles that integrate with the future mobility ecosystem, fostering an automated environment for driving and advanced air mobility.

The announcement of the PBV model marks a significant milestone for Kia Middle East and Africa, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to providing innovative mobility solutions and meeting the evolving needs of the market.
