Indonesia and its Ministry for Women Empowerment and Child Protection and other related ministries and industries have agreed to unite for women’s economic empowerment in trade.

The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) pointed out that Indonesia was actively involved in the Joint Meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministers Responsible for Women and Ministers Responsible for Trade. This meeting took place in Arequipa, Peru.

“Cooperation and collaboration within APEC must explicitly target women, guiding them to face a wide range of inequality-related challenges while creating opportunities to enhance their participation in the economy,” Indonesia Trade Minister, Hasan noted.

Ministers came together to declare their commitment to empowering women in trade. This means more opportunities for women to be involved in making deals and leading the way in international commerce, both regionally and globally. It’s a win for gender equality and could be a big boost for the Asia-Pacific economy.

Further, during the meeting, They pushed APEC to offer practical help to get economies in the region growing again. But that’s not all, they made sure women were a key part of the plan by urging a focus on helping women play a bigger role in the economy.
