Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced that Bhawna Agarwal will take over as the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of HPE India, with immediate effect. Bhawna will report directly to Heiko Meyer, HPE’s Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer.

She succeeds Som Satsangi, who is set to retire after more than 27 years with the company. Som joined Compaq in 1997 and continued with HPE following the HP-Compaq merger in 2002, and will remain with HPE until July 2025 to ensure a smooth leadership transition. His tenure included leading HPE India’s second-largest employee base and achieving key business milestones since becoming Managing Director in 2016.

Bhawna Agarwal, who has been with HPE since 2019, most recently led Account Management and Industry Verticals for HPE India. Her experience spans over 25 years across digital start-ups, media, and major consumer technology companies. Before her current role, she was responsible for the Compute Business Unit and Growth team within the company.

In a recent event, Bhawna and Som joined Indian IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to mark the launch of HPE’s 6001st “Made in India” server, a milestone in the company’s contribution to the “Make in India” initiative.

Heiko Meyer praised Som’s long-standing leadership, saying, “Som has been an expert counsellor and a driven leader. While we will miss his leadership, Bhawna’s growth-oriented mindset and customer focus will continue to guide the company forward.”

Expressing her enthusiasm, Bhawna said, “It’s an honour to take on the role of Managing Director for HPE India. I look forward to building on the foundation Som has established and  driving growth, innovation, and impact with our talented team.”
