Etiqa Insurance Singapore has appointed Claudia Soh as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment marks a strategic executive transition as the licensed insurer accelerates its market expansion across Singapore’s competitive insurance sector.

Soh assumes the top executive role following a six-month tenure operating concurrently as Acting CEO and Chief Financial Officer. During this transitional period, Soh managed operational continuity while driving core commercial initiatives.

Her permanent appointment comes as Etiqa navigates a dual-channel distribution strategy. This involves deepening cross-selling integration with parent entity Maybank while expanding the firm’s reach across independent financial advisory networks in Singapore.

With more than 20 years of commercial experience across corporate finance, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and auditing, Soh brings extensive sector leadership to the executive post:

She joined Etiqa Insurance Singapore as CFO in April 2022. Before that, she served as Chief Risk Officer at AXA Singapore and spent more than 13 years at Great Eastern, where she held senior positions covering group strategy, management reporting, risk management and internal audit. Earlier in her career, Soh spent five years at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, working in the supervision of financial institutions.

An accountant by training, Soh holds a Bachelor of Accountancy with First Class Honours from Nanyang Technological University. Her career has combined financial expertise with strategic and operational leadership, positioning her for the wider responsibilities of the CEO role.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Insurance and Takaful, Mohd Kamaludin, highlighted Soh’s operational resilience and governance track record throughout her time as interim chief.

“Claudia has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic clarity, operational excellence, and resilience during her acting period,” Kamaludin stated. “Her ability to drive innovation, build strong teams, and adapt to changing customer needs will continue to strengthen our market position in Singapore to deliver long-term value for our customers, employees and stakeholders.”
