Motorsport South Africa (MSA) has confirmed the appointment of three new leaders to head its motorcycle working groups. The move signals a major shift in the organisation’s management structure. It also marks a significant milestone for the representation of women within the national sporting body.

The organisation has named Nicole Purificati as the new head of the MSA Circuit Motorcycle Working Group. She takes over the position previously held by Ian Harwood. In the off-road sector, Miranda Du Plessis has been selected to lead the MSA Cross Country Motorcycle Working Group. She succeeds Neville Townsend in the role.

Further changes see Karen Weehuizen-Londt take charge of the MSA Enduro Working Group. She also takes over from Neville Townsend who previously managed both off-road disciplines. These leadership updates are intended to support the ongoing administration and technical development of each specific motorcycle category.

According to MSA, these appointments are a clear reflection of the increasing influence of women in high-level roles within South African motorsport. The body believes that having women lead these specific groups is vital for achieving broader representation across the industry.
