Consultancy firm Baringa has announced the appointment of Jennifer Tay as a partner in its Singapore office. Ms Tay will take charge of the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure advisory practice across the Asian market. She brings over 20 years of experience in the sector, having previously worked on high-level infrastructure investment and energy transition projects.

Before joining Baringa in 2026, Ms Tay served as the Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Leader at PwC. She was also a partner in their deals advisory team. Her career includes significant time spent working with Temasek portfolio companies, where she focused on power, transport and digital infrastructure. Her expertise covers a wide range of areas including capital markets, M&A and project development.

In her new role, she will advise both public and private sector clients on low carbon solutions and strategic infrastructure challenges. The appointment is intended to help clients navigate the shifting energy landscape in the region. Ms Tay also holds several external positions, including a board membership at the Singapore Food Agency and a role with the Global Water Partnership.

Regarding her new position, Jennifer Tay said: “I am excited to join Baringa to head up the Asia Energy and Infrastructure practice. I’ve interacted with so many talented individuals in Baringa globally and I truly believe we can bring together very unique skill sets for clients looking to invest in Asia. Asia’s energy and infrastructure market is primed for growth and driven by fundamental needs for energy security, sustainability and affordability, and the perfect storm for electrification and digitalisation of every aspect of our lives. The needs are so fundamental that there is no question about demand, it is on the shoulders of investors, policies makers and all of us to find ways to ensure meeting of minds.”

She also commented on the regional differences in her field, stating: “Across Asia, the energy transition looks different from market to market. I work closely with clients to make sense of that complexity and help support confident investment and strategy decisions as energy systems evolve and infrastructure scales.”

Baringa stated that her arrival improves their capacity to provide on the ground insight in Asia. Ms Tay noted her enthusiasm for joining the global partnership and the chance to work with international clients. Outside of her professional life, she is a keen athlete and enjoys running while travelling to new cities.
