Auna S.A. has entered into a new collaboration aimed at widening access to healthcare services across Latin America, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sojitz Corporation of America. The agreement, revealed on 20 November 2025, outlines plans for the two organisations to explore joint opportunities in the region’s healthcare sector, beginning with Mexico.
The Luxembourg-based company, which already operates in Mexico, Peru, and Colombia, said the arrangement will focus on developing modern and scalable healthcare services in one of Latin America’s most rapidly expanding medical markets. The partnership will draw on Auna’s experience in delivering integrated care and Sojitz’s global investment network.
The announcement comes two months after Auna confirmed on 24 September 2025 that it intends to invest approximately US$500 million over the next three to five years to expand its healthcare platform in Mexico. The new collaboration is expected to support this wider strategic plan.
Speaking on the agreement, Suso Zamora, Executive Chairman and President of Auna, said: “We have had ongoing conversations with Sojitz over the years about joining forces, and this framework cements our shared vision. This agreement marks an important step in Auna’s strategy to expand our integrated care model and bring high-quality healthcare to more people in Mexico and across Latin America.”
Koichi Yamaguchi, President of Sojitz Corporation of America, added: “We are very pleased to collaborate with Auna, whose mission to expand access to high quality healthcare aligns closely with Sojitz’s commitment to building sustainable businesses that create long-term social value.”
Auna’s platform is one of the largest in the region, prioritising prevention and support for complex conditions in markets where healthcare penetration remains comparatively low. As of 30 June 2025, the company oversaw 31 medical facilities with 2,333 beds and served 1.4 million health plan members.
The company also issued a cautionary statement noting that the announcement contains forward-looking expectations which may be subject to risks and uncertainties. It emphasised that outcomes could differ materially from projections, as detailed in its filings with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
