Collins Aerospace, part of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has been chosen by Qatar Airways to supply its Ascentia™ analytics platform for the carrier’s fleet of 52 Boeing 787 aircraft. The announcement was made during the Dubai Air Show and marks a shift towards more data-led maintenance planning for the airline.

The Ascentia system uses aircraft sensor data combined with historical fleet information and advanced modelling to monitor component performance in real time. The technology is designed to identify potential issues before they arise, helping airlines cut down on unplanned maintenance, reduce aircraft downtime and strengthen on-time operations.

“What sets the Collins Ascentia solution apart is our role as the system OEM, enabling us to deliver precise, real-time recommendations that minimize flight disruptions and enhance the reliability of air travel,” said Nicole White, vice president and general manager of Connected Aviation at Collins Aerospace. “Airlines worldwide rely on Collins components to power their Boeing 787 fleets. With Ascentia analytics supporting nearly 40% of the 787s in operation today, we provide unique insights, seamless system integration, and robust technical support, empowering airlines to effortlessly monitor, analyze, and act on critical operational data to drive efficiency and performance.”

According to Collins Aerospace, Ascentia’s predictive functions will support Qatar Airways in planning maintenance windows, managing resources more effectively and improving spare parts availability, all aimed at lowering costs and improving operational efficiency.
