The Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative for Africa donates N10 Million Widows’ Grant to the International Women’s Society to commemorate The 2024 International Widows’ Day in Lagos.
Dr. Ubon Udoh MD/CEO of ASR Africa announced this donation during a Widows and Empowerment Feast organised by IWS in Lagos, Nigeria.The grant is offered by ASR Africa as a part of its ongoing efforts to invest in social development as one of its primary areas of focus.
Speaking at the function, Mrs. Adeola Adebanke, the chair of IWS’s Widows’ Trust Fund, expressed her deep gratitude and happiness for the contribution that ASR Africa and the BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu gave to the organisation. She prayed in her message that the chairman would keep pushing the envelope and making enormous progress.
Dr. Ubon Udoh (MD/CEO, ASR Africa) expressed gratitude for the wonderful work that International Women Society has done since its founding in 1957 during a goodwill message. He said that the award is evidence of the ASR Africa Chairman’s and the BUA group’s dedication to raising the standard of living and well-being of Nigerians. He continued by saying that the grant’s goal is to provide assistance to the recipients while maintaining its relevance and sustainability. Widows will get it in collaboration with IWS.
The award being given to the recipients was the highlight of the occasion. Furthermore, BUA Foods Plc sent palliative care packets containing rice, pasta, edible oil, and semolina to 250 widows. Visibly appreciative, the widows thanked ASR Africa, its chairman, and executives of BUA Foods Plc for the prompt delivery of palliative care packets.
