Cognizant and Microsoft partner to boost Generative AI Adoption

Cognizant, a prominent digital transformation services provider, has joined forces with Microsoft Corporation in a bid to extend the accessibility of Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilots to millions of users. This collaboration aims to revolutionize enterprise business operations, elevate employee experiences, and catalyze cross-industry innovation.

The strategic partnership leverages Microsoft Copilot and Cognizant’s advisory and digital transformation services to empower employees and enterprise clients in operationalizing generative AI and achieving strategic business transformation. This initiative aligns with Cognizant’s commitment to contribute to the estimated $1 trillion boost that AI is projected to inject into the US GDP over the next decade.

Furthermore, the partnership is poised to significantly accelerate AI adoption and innovation in India, where AI is forecasted to contribute $450-500 billion to the GDP by 2025, accounting for 10% of the country’s ambitious $5 trillion GDP target.

As part of this collaboration, Cognizant has procured 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats for its associates, in addition to 500 Sales Copilot seats and 500 Services Copilot seats, aimed at enhancing productivity, streamlining workflows, and transforming customer experiences. The deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot is slated to reach a million users within Cognizant’s global clientele across 11 industries.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI, expressing a commitment to invest $1 billion in the technology over the next three years. He underscored the importance of this partnership in unlocking talent and potential on a significant scale.

Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Microsoft, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the combined expertise of Cognizant and Microsoft in driving AI adoption and innovation across diverse sectors.

The partnership aims to drive industry-specific transformation, with a focus on sectors that have experienced minimal disruption in decades. Use cases under development include enhancing emergency medical services, remote engineering diagnostics, personalized education services, and streamlining core business processes for communications providers.
