A new regional health campaign aimed at promoting women’s wellbeing across Africa and the Arab world has been officially launched in Cairo. Called Women For Well, the initiative is a joint effort between the Arab African Council for Awareness and the Arab Hospitals Federation. Announced during Africa Health Excon 2025, it is Africa’s largest healthcare exhibition and conference, held under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The initiative is designed to equip women with the tools, knowledge, and support to lead healthier lives, structured around three central areas. The first pillar centres on preventing chronic illness through awareness of risk factors, encouraging early diagnosis, and promoting healthier daily habits. The second addresses mental wellbeing and lifestyle medicine, seeking to dismantle taboos surrounding mental health, build emotional resilience, and support psychological wellness. The third focus is maternal health, from reproductive education to safe pregnancy care and ongoing support after childbirth.

Rather than taking a siloed approach, Women For Well aims to create meaningful impact through community engagement, digital outreach, and coordinated partnerships with women’s organisations across the continent and region.

The joint initiative reflects the vision of both founding organisations to affirm health as both a fundamental right and a shared societal duty. Women For Well places women at the centre of this effort, recognising that empowering women has ripple effects across families, communities, and entire nations.

Women For Well is being positioned as a cross-border movement that builds bridges of awareness and empowerment, committed to elevating the role of women in healthcare and contributing to broader goals in sustainable development.
