The Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship, launched by the University of Wollongong India (UOW India), aims to foster greater female engagement within India’s rapidly expanding financial technology sector.

The scholarship applies to students seeking admission to either the Master of Financial Technology or the Master of Financial Technology programs beginning in November 2024. Eligible candidates will be automatically evaluated for a 50 percent fee reduction. Three exceptional students will receive this scholarship based on their academic merit.

UOW Interim Vice-Chancellor and President Professor John Dewar AO said, “FinTech is transforming the financial services industry, and it is important that we promote an inclusive environment that supports and encourages the participation of women in this field. The Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship at UOW India represents our commitment to diversity and excellence in education. We are excited to offer these scholarships to deserving students and support future female leaders in FinTech.”

The Master of Financial Technology and Master of Financial Technology programs aim to prepare students with essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic field of financial technology. The curriculum includes in-depth coverage of blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and other relevant subjects. Graduates emerge well-equipped to meet the diverse challenges and opportunities within the FinTech industry.

UOW India Campus Director Nimay Kalyani said, “We are delighted to introduce the Women Leaders in FinTech Scholarship as part of our ongoing efforts to promote gender diversity in technology and finance. By providing financial support and recognising academic excellence, we aim to create opportunities for women to thrive in the FinTech industry and contribute to its growth and innovation.”
