Pfizer has appointed Cecile Guegan as its Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, placing the experienced finance executive in charge of the company’s global financial strategy and operations.

Announced on 3 November 2026, the appointment was unanimously approved by Pfizer’s Board of Directors and took effect on 1 November 2026. Guegan had been serving as interim Chief Financial Officer since 16 August 2026, overseeing the company’s financial operations, execution and strategic planning.

Guegan brings more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical finance, having held several senior positions within Pfizer. Before becoming interim CFO, she was responsible for the financial operations and reporting of the company’s biopharmaceutical business across therapeutic areas and international markets.

During her career at Pfizer, she has worked closely with group presidents and chief commercial officers, led long-term financial forecasting for major product portfolios, and played a role in significant acquisitions and integrations. She also co-led a strategic initiative focused on identifying new sources of business growth.

In her new position, Guegan will oversee all aspects of Pfizer’s financial management. Her responsibilities include corporate finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, taxation, insurance, operations planning and analysis, corporate controllership, and business finance and analytics.

Pfizer Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla welcomed the appointment, highlighting Guegan’s understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and her track record in financial performance and business growth.

Guegan said: “I am honored to step into this role to continue positioning Pfizer for durable long-term growth and shareholder value creation. My focus remains on executing a disciplined approach to capital allocation while making targeted investments today to drive revenue growth later in the decade and beyond.”

She holds a master’s degree in Management, specialising in Audit and Finance, from the Graduate School of Management of Brest in France, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

The appointment comes as Pfizer continues to strengthen its business performance and long-term growth strategy. The company reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $16.6 billion and raised its full-year revenue forecast to between $62 billion and $64 billion, citing stronger performance from several recently launched and acquired products.

Guegan’s appointment places her at the centre of the company’s financial planning as it navigates market competition, investment in research and development, and the development of its future product pipeline.
