Nedbank Namibia is gearing up to host the fourth edition of the Women in Media Conference, scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Nedbank Campus in Windhoek. Spearheaded by Limba Mupetami, Co-Founder of Women in Media, the event aims to create a dynamic platform for women in Namibia’s media sphere to engage in dialogue, networking, and collaborative efforts.
With a dedicated focus on advancing gender diversity and empowerment within the media sector, the conference will feature panel discussions and interactive sessions led by distinguished speakers from media organizations, academic institutions, and corporate entities. Topics on the agenda encompass a broad spectrum, ranging from discussions on the portrayal of women in media to strategies for career progression and leadership enhancement.
Selma Kaulinge, Communications and Public Relations Manager at Nedbank, underscored the significance of fostering collaboration between media houses and corporates in driving innovation and amplifying women’s voices within the media landscape. She emphasized Nedbank’s commitment to supporting women in media and facilitating positive societal change through initiatives like the Women in Media Conference.
“At Nedbank Namibia, we recognise the pivotal role of women in shaping the media landscape and driving societal change. Through this conference, we aimed to foster a supportive environment for women in media to exchange ideas, share experiences, and forge partnerships that drive positive impact. As money experts who do good, we believe that collaboration between media houses and corporates is essential for driving innovation, promoting diversity, and amplifying women’s voices in the media,” Kaulinge said.
The event, which welcomes participation from media professionals and students pursuing media-related qualifications, offers a valuable opportunity for attendees to exchange insights, share experiences, and establish meaningful partnerships. Sponsored by Nedbank Namibia, along with Multichoice Namibia, the European Union, Pupkewitz Motors, Gondwana Collection, and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Media, the conference promises to be an enriching and empowering experience for all involved.
