Mother welcomes Pamela Chen as Managing Director and Partner in Shanghai

Pamela Chen joins Mother after her recent post as Director of Business Development at AKQA in San Francisco and she partners with Winson Woo and Wanshi Lu. 

Chen has previously adorned WPP leadership roles and global positions in digital marketing, media strategy, and brand communications at companies Ventures, Mindshare, Ogilvy, Possible, and Grey. She has also partnered with Apple, Google, Meta, Peet’s, World Food Programme and Uber.

Chen said: “As China’s dynamic landscape continues to evolve, I am filled with optimism about the prospect of guiding brands towards excellence through Mother’s creative leadership.”

Mother Global CEO, Michael Wall, added: “Having Pamela join the Mother Family, partnering with the formidable Winson and Washi, will help turbocharge Mother Shanghai. She’ll bring us wisdom, expertise, and a little bit of good luck.”

Pamela Chen’s journey has brought her back to where it all began: Shanghai. She kicked off her career in the bustling tech hub of Silicon Valley before venturing into cross-border collaborations with renowned firms like New Enterprise Associates and Northern Light Venture Capital. Her path eventually led her to China, immersing her in some of the globe’s most cutting-edge innovation hubs. After earning her MBA from Tsinghua University, where she was lauded for her exceptional social impact initiatives, Chen made her mark at WPP as an MBA fellow.
