Microtek Learning, a global provider of IT and professional certification training, has launched a new scholarship programme designed to increase female participation in Information Technology and Cybersecurity.

The “Women in Tech” Scholarship will provide financial aid, mentorship, and career guidance for women seeking certifications in key areas such as Microsoft, AWS, PECB, CompTIA, and cybersecurity. The initiative aims to reduce financial barriers while offering structured support to help women build the skills needed for long-term careers in the technology sector.

“Despite growth in tech, women remain significantly underrepresented in cybersecurity and IT roles,” said Corazon Palmares, Director of Learning Solutions at Microtek Learning. “With this program, our goal is to create pathways for women to access world-class training, gain certifications, and secure leadership roles in technology.”

The scholarship package includes:

  • Funding of up to 50% of training costs
  • Access to mentorship and peer networks through Microtek Learning’s professional community
  • Career advice and coaching tailored specifically to IT and cybersecurity professions

Industry data shows that women account for less than 25% of the global cybersecurity workforce, highlighting the scale of the challenge. As demand for skilled professionals continues to grow, Microtek Learning says the programme will help more women step into roles within the digital economy.

Applications are now open, with eligibility extended to women from all backgrounds who show interest in IT or cybersecurity and a clear commitment to career progression.
