JA Solar has formally endorsed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles. The company plans to incorporate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) into its strategy and operations, focusing on goals that are pertinent to its business and value chain. JA Solar is committed to promoting gender equality, ensuring equal pay for equal work, and safeguarding the rights and well-being of its female employees. This initiative aims to create a workplace environment that fosters equality and empowerment for all women.

JA Solar upholds the values of openness, fairness, and impartiality in its employment practices. We strictly adhere to all applicable laws and regulations in China, including the Labor Law, the Labor Contract Law, the Employment Promotion Law, the Law on the Protection of Women’s Rights and Interests, and the Provisions on the Prohibition of Using Child Labor. Furthermore, we align our policies with international standards such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the conventions of the International Labour Organization. In addition to complying with these standards, JA Solar is committed to promoting gender equality and ensuring equal pay for all employees. We enforce these principles under national laws like the Special Regulations on the Labor Protection of Female Employees, aiming to safeguard the labor rights and interests of all our female employees. Our internal management system is designed to support these principles and ensure a fair and respectful workplace environment for everyone.

JA Solar has formally joined the Forward Faster initiative led by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), with a commitment to advancing sustainable development goals, particularly gender equality. By 2030, JA Solar aims to ensure equal representation, participation, and leadership opportunities for women across all levels of management. Additionally, the company is dedicated to achieving pay parity for equal work. JA Solar is actively working towards fostering an inclusive workplace environment by removing barriers that inhibit women from entering the workforce and by promoting an atmosphere of mutual respect and empowerment for all its employees.

In 2023, JA Solar recorded a total of 368,336 instances of female employee participation in training, with each female employee averaging 57.8 hours of training. The company emphasizes support for its female workforce, offering benefits such as maternity leave, parental leave, breastfeeding breaks, and various allowances. On Women’s Day, special benefits are provided, along with organized entertainment activities. Women hold 33% of seats on the company’s board of directors, and 67% of supervisory roles within the company are held by women.
