Qatar Chamber is set to host the inaugural Gulf-Africa Businesswomen’s Forum on May 5-6, aiming to highlight investment opportunities across the Gulf and African markets. Organised in collaboration with Al Maraya Exhibition and Conferences Company, the event seeks to strengthen economic partnerships among businesswomen while fostering knowledge exchange on entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

To formalise their cooperation, Qatar Chamber and Al Maraya Exhibition and Conferences Company signed an agreement at the Chamber’s headquarters. The deal was signed by Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber, and Jaber Al Mansouri, CEO of Al Maraya Exhibitions and Conferences.

Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, Qatar Chamber board member and President of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum, highlighted the significance of the event in addressing challenges and exploring cooperation between Gulf and African businesswomen. She pointed out that Africa presents lucrative investment prospects across various sectors and noted the increasing Gulf interest in expanding investments in the continent.

She also emphasised that strengthening collaboration among businesswomen remains a key priority for Qatar Chamber. The Qatari Businesswomen Forum, she added, is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs and enabling them to play a more significant role in Qatar’s economy.

Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri reaffirmed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting the forum, stressing its importance in bringing together top businesswomen from both regions to explore mutual opportunities. He noted that the Chamber’s sponsorship reflects its dedication to enhancing the role of women in economic development.

Jaber Al Mansouri, CEO of Al Maraya Exhibitions and Conferences, expressed confidence in the forum’s success, predicting strong participation from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and African countries. He stated that the event aims to establish lasting trade and investment partnerships beyond networking sessions.

The forum will welcome prominent African officials, both past and present, alongside leading female CEOs from major African companies. It will also feature panel discussions that will showcase success stories and highlight key sectors with promising investment potential for women entrepreneurs from both regions.
