China Southern Power Grid (CSG) took part in the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, marking its first official delegation appearance at the global climate summit. The company was present at the event from 10–21 November and hosted a full programme on 19 November at the China Pavilion under the theme “Forge a New Chapter for Green Power Grid, Lay the Foundation for a World-Class Enterprise.”

As part of “Corporate Day,” CSG joined China National Petroleum Corporation and China Energy Investment Group Co. in co-hosting a side event that brought together participants from governments, private sector organisations, and research bodies across several countries. Discussions centred on how different actors can contribute to China’s dual-carbon objectives and enhance international climate cooperation. A CSG executive delivered a keynote address detailing the firm’s progress in building a next-generation power system and its role in advancing the clean energy transition. The executive also presided over an international roundtable on low-carbon and sustainable development, where representatives from Brazil, Peru, and other nations exchanged views on collaborative pathways to accelerate low-carbon industrial growth.

CSG held an additional session on the same day titled “New Practices of Eco-Oriented Enterprises in Advancing Green and Low-Carbon Development.” During the event, the company unveiled the China Southern Power Grid Eco-Oriented Enterprises Report in both Chinese and English, setting out its approach to supporting the move towards renewable energy. Other topics included carbon target management, zero-carbon industries, and the company’s overseas low-carbon initiatives. Case studies, a themed exhibition and an interactive tea-making demonstration powered by clean electricity were used to illustrate CSG’s efforts to improve environmental performance and promote low-carbon development.

Throughout COP30, CSG maintained an exhibition on ecological stewardship at the China Pavilion, accompanied by a promotional video highlighting the role of Chinese companies in global climate action and technological innovation.
