Bangladesh’s IFIC Bank takes stride in empowering women through technology

IFIC Bank has launched the “IFIC Bank Stands Beside Women in Technological Advancement” campaign. This initiative, unveiled on the occasion of “World Telecommunication and Information Society Day,” underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering a technologically proficient female workforce capable of steering the nation towards a digital future.

The campaign’s inauguration took place at Chittagong Government Girls High School on Thursday, May 16th, 2024. IFIC Bank marked the occasion by furnishing the school with two computers and 120 books, essential resources designed to facilitate the students’ exploration of technology.

Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director of IFIC Bank, expressed the institution’s dedication to societal prosperity through increased female participation and technological prowess. “This initiative serves as a cornerstone in our efforts to empower women and propel them further into the technological landscape,” remarked Mr. Islam during the campaign’s launch.

The primary objective of the initiative is to cultivate the creativity and talents of female students across different regions of the nation by providing them with immersive technological experiences. By offering new opportunities and encouragement, IFIC Bank aims to nurture a generation of female technologists capable of contributing significantly to the technological advancement of the nation.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nazimul Haque, Chief Manager of the Agrabad Branch; Ms. Fariha Haider, Head of the Centralized Retail Marketing Department; Ms. Moriam Begum, Acting Headmistress of Chittagong Government Girls’ High School, alongside other bank and school officials, as well as over a hundred students from the school. This collaborative effort underscores IFIC Bank’s dedication to empowering women and bridging the gender gap in the technology sector.
