Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal has joined hands with menstrual hygiene brand Naarica as both an investor and brand ambassador. This collaboration aims to raise awareness about sustainable menstrual care solutions, especially in a country where nearly half of menstruating women still struggle to access proper sanitary products.

Naarica is known for its absorbent menstrual underwear, offering an eco-friendly and reusable alternative to traditional sanitary pads. By blending international design with Indian manufacturing, the brand seeks to provide high-quality hygiene solutions that are both sustainable and accessible.

“I am proud to partner with Naarica as a strategic investor and brand ambassador. Menstrual hygiene is a critical yet often overlooked issue in our country. Through this collaboration, I hope to create greater awareness and provide women with access to the high-quality, sustainable products they deserve. This is more than a business investment—it’s a step toward empowerment and change,” said Nehwal.

India’s menstrual hygiene sector is expanding rapidly, with market estimates projecting a 16% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). By 2025, the industry is expected to be worth $522 million. However, despite this growth, many women, particularly in underserved areas, still face challenges in accessing proper menstrual care.

Shruti Chand, Founder of Naarica, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “Partnering with Saina Nehwal is a huge milestone for Naarica. Our vision is to make absorbent intimate wear more accessible. Saina is a strong voice, her advocacy for our product will help us navigate through different demographics and help educate audiences on absorbent sanitary care as important hygiene care products. This partnership will enable us to enhance our product offerings to cater to all, scale operations, and expand our outreach to underserved communities.”

Naarica also highlights that it is India’s only German lab-certified antibacterial period underwear brand, focusing on reusable menstrual products as a sustainable alternative to disposable pads. Through this initiative, the company aims to transform menstrual hygiene standards and make high-quality, environmentally friendly products more widely available.
