Mazuma has appointed Becky Glover as its chief financial officer, creating the role for the first time as the firm continues to expand its leadership team.

Glover joins the business with experience spanning the biotech, software and insurance sectors. Over the last decade, she has held senior finance roles within high-growth, technology-led organisations, where she has focused on using data to inform strategic and operational decision-making.

Speaking about her appointment, Glover said: “Mazuma has a really clear sense of who it is and what it is building. That is rare and it is exciting. The team moves fast, thinks differently and I can already tell everyone genuinely cares about doing things better for clients.

“I am looking forward to helping Mazuma grow even further and making sure the numbers are working just as hard as the people.”

Alongside her executive career, Glover holds several positions across the accounting profession. She sits on the board of the Association of Accounting Technicians and serves as vice-chair of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Financial Services sector panel. She was also involved in founding Connexion Career Collective, a community designed to support women working in industries where they remain under-represented.

In addition, Glover has entrepreneurial experience, having previously run an online wine retail business.

Mazuma founder and chief executive Lucy Cohen said the appointment reflected a long-standing intention to bring Glover into the business. She said: “I have had my eye on Becky for a long time, so I am genuinely delighted she is joining us. She brings serious financial firepower and understands exactly how to build financial control without killing momentum and ambition.

“That kind of attitude and knowledge make her a perfect fit for Mazuma. We move quickly, we question everything and we are proud to be disruptive. Becky is calm, pragmatic, smart and very much our kind of human. I can’t wait to see how she helps take us forward.”

The creation of the CFO role marks a significant step for Mazuma as it looks to strengthen its financial leadership while maintaining its growth-focused approach.

“Mazuma appoints Becky Glover as chief financial officer” was originally created and published by International Accounting Bulletin, a GlobalData owned brand.
