Khaleeji Bank, one of Bahrain’s leading Islamic banks, has launched the 2025 edition of its annual internship programme, welcoming a fresh group of students from universities both in the Kingdom and overseas.
Ms Fatima Ahmed Al Bin Ali, Head of Human Resources at Khaleeji Bank, said: “We are proud to continue offering this valuable internship programme year after year. It underscores our commitment to social responsibility and our dedication to developing the capabilities of our national workforce, enabling them to contribute to the advancement of Bahrain’s banking sector.”
She added: “At Khaleeji Bank, we believe that practical training is a necessary bridge connecting university education with the needs of the labour market. Through this programme, we aim to provide students with meaningful hands-on experience alongside our team in a manner that develops their skills, broadens their understanding, and prepares them for successful future careers in banking.”
The initiative forms part of the bank’s commitment to equipping Bahraini youth with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers. It offers participants a blend of theoretical learning and practical training, giving them direct exposure to the banking sector and preparing them for the transition into the workforce.
This year, 40 students have joined the scheme, receiving hands-on training across multiple departments under the guidance of experienced professionals. The aim is to create an engaging and informative environment where students can develop practical skills and gain an understanding of the inner workings of an Islamic bank.
Since it was first introduced in 2004, the programme has become a core annual feature of Khaleeji Bank’s talent development efforts. It reflects the bank’s strategy to prepare young professionals for the labour market, aligning with Bahrain’s broader vision for sustainable economic growth.
Khaleeji Bank continues to deliver a range of Shari’a-compliant banking services and investment opportunities, catering to both individual and corporate clients in pursuit of their financial ambitions.
