Women in leadership take centre stage at MaintCon 2024

Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre recently hosted the 7th International Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management Conference (MaintCon 2024), where a special event organised by the Women in Industry and Asset Management (WIAM) Committee highlighted the essential roles women play in the workplace.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, praised the support women receive from the Bahraini leadership. He specifically acknowledged the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa in fostering an environment conducive to the advancement of women across all sectors.

Dr. Bin Daina emphasised the significant contributions of women in the oil, gas, and energy sectors, noting that their skills and creativity are indispensable to the growth of these industries.

Maram Al Hammad, Chairwoman of the WIAM Committee at the Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR), spoke about the pivotal role Bahraini women play in asset management within the industrial landscape. She underscored the conference’s commitment to elevating women’s roles in industry and asset management.

The WIAM event drew an impressive crowd of over 300 women leaders, dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering future generations of female leaders in various industries. Attendees engaged in enlightening discussions on leadership and workplace challenges and celebrated outstanding achievements during an awards ceremony. Honorees received the Emerging Professionals Award, the Women of Excellence Achievement Award, and the Women Empowerment Award, recognizing their significant contributions to their fields.

This gathering not only highlighted women’s leadership but also reinforced the collective commitment to fostering an inclusive environment in the workforce.
