UAE President honours Tanzanian President with ‘Mother of the Nation Order’

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates honoured Tanzania’s President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan with the prestigious ‘Mother of the Nation Order’. This accolade recognises her outstanding contributions to supporting sustainable prosperity and strengthening social unity in Tanzania.

The award was presented by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting held in Tanzania at the start of Sheikh Abdullah’s official visit. The ceremony was attended by Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation.

During their discussions, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah conveyed warm greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Dr. Samia, wishing her nation continued progress and prosperity. The Tanzanian President reciprocated with her own good wishes for the UAE’s ongoing success. The talks centred on the strong friendship between the two countries and explored ways to deepen cooperation across economic, trade, investment, and development sectors, aiming to benefit both peoples.

Following a high-level meeting between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a mutual administrative cooperation agreement on customs matters, an MoU on mining sector investment, and the establishment of a bilateral Business Council between the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Tanzania’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture.

The delegation included Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State; and Khalifa Abdulrahman Al Marzouqi, UAE Ambassador to Tanzania. This gesture highlights the growing ties between the UAE and Tanzania, underscoring their shared commitment to partnership and mutual development.
