In an effort to enhance diversity and inclusivity in the sports technology sector, TeamViewer, a leading global provider of remote connectivity solutions, has introduced its innovative SheSportTech initiative. This groundbreaking program aims to inspire and support women to explore career opportunities in the rapidly expanding field of sports technology.

Launched in collaboration with esteemed sports partners Manchester United and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, SheSportTech underscores TeamViewer’s commitment to cultivating a diverse workforce. Supported by Women in Sports Tech (WiST), a prominent global non-profit organization dedicated to advancing opportunities for women in the sports tech industry, the initiative is poised to drive positive change and provide fair opportunities for professional growth.

SheSportTech offers a comprehensive pathway for women aged 18 and above globally to delve into the realm of sports technology. The program provides five successful applicants with up to €1,500 in training grants to pursue courses related to sports tech careers. Additionally, participants will be paired with a female mentor from TeamViewer or one of the initiative’s esteemed sports partners, offering valuable guidance and insights based on their experiences.

Faith Wheller, Vice President of Brand at TeamViewer, emphasized the importance of representation in the tech industry, stating, “At TeamViewer, we believe that technology is made better by a diverse workforce. We know that representation matters in making women feel that sport tech is a field where they could thrive, which is why our campaign brings all these amazing women and their roles into the spotlight.”

Marilou McFarlane, Founder and CEO of WiST, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting its potential to create a more diverse and inclusive sports tech ecosystem. “We are honoured to join forces with TeamViewer on this exciting, educational and engaging initiative. This partnership aligns with our vision of creating a more diverse and inclusive sport tech ecosystem.”

Applications for SheSportTech are now open, with aspiring women in sports technology encouraged to apply before the deadline on Sunday, June 30. The selection process will consider various factors, including applicants’ reasons for transitioning into sports tech, their proposed opportunities utilizing the funds, and the quality of their written proposals.

With SheSportTech, TeamViewer is paving the way for women to thrive and excel in the dynamic and innovative field of sports technology, fostering a more inclusive and equitable industry for future generations.
