Seesaw, a top global company that creates learning tools for kids from preschool to 12th grade, has bought Little Thinking Minds, a company from the MENA region that focuses on teaching Arabic reading and writing. Little Thinking Minds was started by women and is well-known for its Arabic learning programs.
Seesaw is used by over 25 million teachers, students, and families worldwide. This partnership will help Seesaw grow in the region by adding Arabic and English learning materials that fit the local culture.
The company has interactive and AI-powered tools that make learning more fun and help teachers check how students are doing. By joining with Little Thinking Minds, Seesaw will offer better Arabic reading programs and tools for students and teachers. They also plan to launch their first Arabic learning platform in 2026, showing their commitment to teaching in different languages.
Both companies will work together to help teachers create fun, inclusive, and personalized learning experiences for students. This partnership ensures that every student gets the support they need throughout their education. Additionally, school leaders and education ministries will benefit from Seesaw’s interactive dashboards and student portfolios, which provide clear insights into student progress and learning outcomes.
“This partnership marks a major step in our mission to create engaging and effective learning experiences for students worldwide,” said Matthew Given, CEO of Seesaw. “Little Thinking Minds has built a strong reputation and effective products for improving Arabic literacy, and by joining forces, we can empower more students and teachers with localized, high-impact learning solutions.”
Little Thinking Minds is an innovative edtech company that was founded in 2004 and is committed to bridging the literacy gap for Arabic-speaking kids globally. Over 400,000 students in more than ten countries have benefited from the company’s evidence-based digital literacy solutions through its platforms I Read Arabic, I Start Arabic, and the Mizan Assessment Platform. Supported by independent studies, LTM’s programs have shown a 25% increase in reading levels, and government initiatives, refugee education programs, and public and private schools all rely on them to produce quantifiable results.
As one of the most successful edtech firms in the area, Little Thinking Minds has drawn investors and raised a sizable sum of money. The business raised a Series A investment in 2018 under Algebra which is Egypt’s largest venture capital firm, focusing on investing in innovative startups across the MENA region.
“We’re incredibly proud to be joining the Seesaw family,” said Rama Kayyali, co-founder and CEO of Little Thinking Minds. “As the leading Arabic language K-12 edtech in the region—with curriculum alignment across most Arab countries, a strong footprint in both public and private schools, and pioneering research and development in AI for Arabic literacy, this milestone represents a powerful next step in our mission. Together with Seesaw, we’re poised to scale our impact even further, delivering cutting-edge, culturally relevant learning experiences that empower children across the MENA region and beyond.”
A major step forward for the MENA edtech ecosystem, this acquisition, which started with EDT&Partners, strengthens Seesaw’s dedication to multilingual education and broadens its market reach into Arabic-speaking regions. With their merged solution set, Seesaw and Little Thinking Minds, which already serve 800,000 users at more than 3,000 schools, ministries, and school groups in the MENA region, want to quickly broaden their worldwide reach.
