Prime Bank hosts training programme for women entrepreneurs in Chattogram

Prime Bank PLC has recently conducted a special training programme titled “Prime Neera – SME Women Entrepreneurs Training and Development Program” in Chattogram, aimed at supporting women’s entrepreneurship and strengthening financial inclusion across Bangladesh. The initiative falls under the Bank’s Neera programme, which focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting sustainable business growth.

Held at Hotel Agrabad, the event gathered more than 130 women entrepreneurs, including clients of Prime Bank and members of the Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CWCCI). The programme was designed to equip participants with enhanced business management skills, improve financial literacy, and help develop strategies for expanding into new markets.

The training also encouraged women entrepreneurs to take more active roles within the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector, which continues to serve as a major driver of employment and economic development in Bangladesh.

The session was presided over by Sarker Mehedi Reza, Chattogram Regional Head of Prime Bank PLC. Other senior representatives from the Bank included Sheikh Nur Alam, Head of Small Business & Refinance; Fatema Akter Naz, Business Development Manager; and several branch managers from the Chattogram region. Abida Mustafa, President of the Chattogram Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the event as Special Guest.

Speakers highlighted the vital role of women entrepreneurs in advancing Bangladesh’s economy and stressed the importance of continuous professional development. They also highlighted how digital banking solutions can be effectively utilised to streamline business operations, access wider markets, and ensure more efficient financial management.

Through initiatives like Prime Neera, Prime Bank continues to work towards expanding opportunities for women entrepreneurs by offering training, tailored financial products, and advisory services. The Bank reiterated its commitment to promoting gender-inclusive economic participation and building a resilient SME sector nationwide.
