The Nobel Women’s Initiative has launched its call for applications for the 2026 Sister-to-Sister Young Feminist Leadership Program.

The submission deadline for the international scheme is fixed for 26 June 2026.

This year the intensive virtual training initiative is built around the central theme of “Peace in the Age of AI: Building Feminist Futures.” The curriculum is designed to address how artificial intelligence handles power, digital security risks, autonomous weapons systems and targeted online disinformation campaigns that impact women in public life.

The 2026 cohort will draw straight inspiration from the career of Nobel Laureate Maria Ressa, whose journalism has focused heavily on protecting democratic space and truth online. The training looks to turn structural analysis into direct local action.

A total of 25 young feminist activists will be chosen to take part in the six-week virtual learning course, which runs from 24 August to 28 September 2026. To help remove barriers to digital participation, chosen candidates will receive an honorarium upon completion to cover workspace, internet access or care responsibilities.

Applicants must be aged between 18 and 35, possess a working command of English and have previous involvement supporting women’s rights, digital rights or peacebuilding. The selection panel encourages trans and non-binary activists to apply. Full participation in at least 80% of live cohort sessions is mandatory.

While global applications are welcome, the organisation is prioritising representation from East Africa along with specific nations. These include the Philippines, Liberia, Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Colombia, Haiti, Ukraine, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
