The second edition of the Seal the Deal 2025 initiative has concluded with notable success, attracting investment commitments worth more than AED 4 million (USD 1.08 million) for nine participating start-ups. The event reaffirmed its role in advancing entrepreneurship and connecting emerging innovators with investors and business leaders.
Held during the second day of the Sharjah Investment Forum and Global Investment Conference 2025, the event was attended by H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP).
Each of the nine start-ups was given a five-minute slot to pitch their business ideas, followed by a short Q&A session with a panel of judges. Their presentations successfully secured substantial investment pledges from interested investors.
Organised by the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park in partnership with the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa), Invest in Sharjah, the American University of Sharjah, and the University of Sharjah, the initiative reinforces Sharjah’s growing reputation as a key regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
This year’s edition expanded its scope to include start-ups founded by students and academic staff, alongside early-stage companies based in Sharjah. The programme reflects the emirate’s vision of nurturing a vibrant innovation ecosystem and supporting emerging entrepreneurs in the advanced technology and sustainability sectors.
The Seal the Deal initiative focuses on start-ups in innovation-driven industries such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainability. Participants were given the opportunity to present their projects to investors, who evaluated their feasibility and potential for commercial success.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, said: “The Seal the Deal initiative has evolved into a unique platform that brings together academia, investors and the private sector to transform scientific research and innovation into sustainable business ventures. Sharjah’s collaborative model is an inspiring experience that is creating a real impact across sectors and communities.”
