The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board has announced a change in its senior leadership team. Julia Muetudhana has taken over the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 July 2026. The strategic decision was confirmed via an official statement issued by the company board of directors.

Muetudhana brings significant internal expertise to the position, having worked as the Executive for Talent, Innovation and Productivity at the organisation since 2023. According to the board, her established track record and deep institutional knowledge mean she is well placed to steer the firm during this interim phase. She will occupy the chief executive office for a fixed term of six months, or until the ongoing process to recruit a permanent Chief Executive Officer is finalised.

The change in leadership follows the departure of Jessica Hauuanga, who officially concluded her run as Acting CEO on 30 June 2026. Hauuanga is scheduled to leave the investment agency entirely at the end of August 2026. Directors praised her performance during a critical transitional phase, noting that she provided dependable guidance to keep operations running smoothly.

During her time leading the organisation, Hauuanga focused on maintaining day-to-day operational consistency. She was credited with keeping up the momentum of the national economic diversification strategy and investment promotion plans. The board expressed its gratitude for her hard work and extended its best wishes for her future corporate projects.

The organisation is now urging all external stakeholders, partners and investors to maintain their strong backing for the new executive team. The board emphasised that continuous stakeholder support remains vital to protect investor confidence and help the team carry out its primary mandate of marketing Namibia as a top destination for global capital.
