Motorway taps Bumble’s Naomi Walkland as Marketing Chief

Motorway, the leading online platform for selling used cars, has announced the appointment of Naomi Walkland as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Walkland brings a wealth of experience from her previous role at the online dating app Bumble, where she served as Vice President of Marketing.

At Bumble, Walkland spearheaded the international marketing efforts, playing a pivotal role in driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth across global markets. Notably, she was instrumental in the company’s successful IPO in 2021 and played a key role in expanding Bumble’s presence across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions.

In her new role at Motorway, Walkland will report directly to Tom Leathes, CEO, and co-founder, and will be tasked with leading the company’s marketing strategy. Her responsibilities will encompass brand and product marketing, growth marketing, communications, and business marketing.

Motorway expressed confidence in Walkland’s ability to drive the company’s growth trajectory forward, citing her track record of expanding Bumble’s brand presence into over 15 markets worldwide and leading impactful global marketing campaigns.

As Motorway continues to solidify its position in the market, Walkland’s expertise is expected to be instrumental in accelerating the company’s growth and bringing new propositions to life.

Walkland’s contributions to the field of marketing have been widely recognized, earning her accolades such as being named an Honorary Fellow of The Marketing Society and securing a place on Marketing Week and Campaign Magazine’s prestigious ‘Power 100’ and ‘Marketing Week Top 100 Effective Leaders’ lists.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Walkland is actively involved in initiatives aimed at supporting women in the creative industries. She sits on the global board of The Marketing Society and serves as an Advisor for OK Mentor, a program providing free mentorship to women graduates.
