Marika Auramo named CEO of Vodafone Business

Vodafone Group Plc, has named Marika Auramo as the new CEO of its technology communications arm, Vodafone Business. Auramo’s appointment, effective July 1, marks a significant transition in leadership, succeeding Giorgio Migliarina, who served as interim CEO of Vodafone Business.

With over 25 years of experience in the global IT industry, Auramo joins Vodafone from SAP, a leading enterprise company, where she held the position of Chief Business Officer for the EMEA region. In her role at SAP, Auramo was instrumental in driving the go-to-market strategy for SAP’s product portfolio across 89 countries and overseeing a workforce of 14,000 employees.

Having joined SAP in 1999, Auramo has held various leadership positions throughout her tenure, including COO EMEA North, Managing Director for the Nordic and Baltic region, Global COO of SAP Database and Data Management in the US, and Interim President of the EMEA region.

Vodafone Business stands as a pivotal growth driver within the Vodafone Group. During the Group’s third-quarter trading update, Vodafone Business reported a notable 5% increase in service revenue, highlighting its significance within the organization.

Expressing her delight at Auramo’s appointment, Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone Group, remarked, “I am delighted that Marika will be joining Vodafone to lead our Business division, a key growth driver. She brings extensive B2B experience from the IT industry, and I look forward to welcoming her as a member of our Executive Committee.”

In response, Auramo expressed her eagerness to collaborate with the Vodafone management team, customers, and partners.She said, “I am looking forward to working with Margherita and the management team and to engaging with Vodafone’s customers and partners. Vodafone Business has strong growth opportunities ahead – as large corporates, SMEs and the public sector look to adopt more digital tools to enhance growth and productivity – and I will be working alongside my new colleagues to capture this.”

Auramo’s appointment comes as she succeeds Giorgio Migliarina, who led Vodafone Business effectively as interim CEO. The division’s sustained service revenue growth, coupled with increasing demand from the public sector and heightened customer adoption of digital services such as Cloud, Security, and IoT, underscores the momentum and potential for further expansion within Vodafone Business.
