Mamaya Health, a mental health care provider dedicated to supporting women and families, has announced a strategic partnership with Mending Hearts, a Nashville-based nonprofit committed to helping women rebuild their lives after addiction. Starting August 2025, Mamaya Health will begin offering direct mental health support to participants in Mending Hearts’ residential and transitional recovery programmes.
The partnership marks a critical step in ensuring that women in recovery receive the emotional and psychological support needed to navigate the complexities of healing from substance use and trauma. The initiative focuses on integrating individual and group therapy services into Mending Hearts’ existing programming, making mental health care a core component of recovery.
“At Mamaya Health, we believe therapy is a lifeline—not a luxury,” said Amy Green, LCSW, PMH-C, Founder and CEO of Mamaya Health. “Mending Hearts creates a powerful environment for transformation. We’re honoured to walk alongside these women in recovery, offering the mental health support they need and deserve.”
The programme will include therapy sessions led by Mamaya Health clinicians and supervised clinical interns, delivering trauma-informed, personalised care tailored to the individual needs of women working through recovery. The partnership also includes reduced-rate sessions for women transitioning into step-down or outpatient services, ensuring ongoing access to care without interruption.
Mending Hearts offers a long-term, residential treatment model that is holistic and community-focused. The organisation addresses addiction, trauma, and incarceration through a comprehensive approach that includes mental health care, life skills training, and support for reintegration into society, regardless of a woman’s financial situation.
“Mental health care is a foundational piece of recovery,” said Trina Frierson, Founder and CEO of Mending Hearts. “By partnering with Mamaya Health, we’re able to offer women trauma-informed therapy and compassionate support as they rebuild their lives and reclaim their futures.”
The collaboration responds to a growing awareness of the intersection between trauma, addiction, and mental health. Many women recovering from substance use face layered challenges, including co-occurring disorders, unresolved trauma, and systemic barriers to long-term care. This partnership seeks to eliminate those barriers by embedding accessible, high-quality therapy directly into the recovery process.
Together, Mamaya Health and Mending Hearts aim to build a community-based, whole-person model of healing, one that is grounded in compassion, inclusivity, and long-term support.
