An exclusive gathering of women leaders in human resources from Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE took place, organised by the SAP UAE Business Women’s Network (BWN). The event focused on vital discussions around diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I), alongside the impact of artificial intelligence on the future of HR.

“AI will revolutionise DE&I by eliminating unconscious bias in recruitment, promotions, compensation, and succession planning. It uses advanced data analytics to detect patterns of bias so organisations can make data-driven decisions to build diverse talent pools, ensuring equitable opportunities across the workforce,” explained keynote speaker Dr. Kate Barker, Chief Futurist from NEOM in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Barker was part of a panel discussion at the event that addressed the challenge of overcoming biases. Joining her were Anna Bufi Gaig from Cellnex, Sarah Tabet from Siemens Energy, and Parita Labbe from the Chalhoub Group. The session was expertly moderated by Hanan Abdulkarim from SAP, fostering an engaging conversation on this important topic.

“The rapid rise of AI has been transformative to the practice of HR, and platforms like these enable thought leaders to come together, share experiences and engage in deep discussions on pivotal topics such as diversity, inclusion and the responsible use of AI in HR,” commented Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director, SAP UAE.

In collaboration with Advantage Consultores, Microsoft, and Connecting Women in Technology (CWIT) MENA, this meeting brought together senior female executives in HR. They exchanged best practices, fostered collaboration, and examined how AI can enhance DE&I initiatives, ultimately contributing to the creation of more inclusive workplace environments.
