Brac Bank with MetLife to provide Micro Deposit Insurance to Women

Brac Bank Tara has partnered with MetLife, through the Brac Bank agent banking channel, to provide micro deposit insurance facilities at no cost to rural women.

Increasing insurance penetration and raising rural women’s awareness of health issues are the main objectives.Through the Agent channel, this agreement will offer insurance benefits to more than 5,000 Tara consumers. 

At the agreement signing ceremony, representatives of Brac Bank, including Mahiul Islam, DMD and head of retail banking; Mehruba Reza, head of Tara, Agami, premium banking segment; Mahbubur Rahman, head of SME liability and cash management; and Mohammad Jakirul Islam, head of strategic alliance and digital financial service, signed the document. Representatives of MetLife included Muhammad Asif Shams, head of Bancassurance; Kazi Sayeed Faruqui, key account manager of Bancassurance; and Shahriar Kabir, manager of Bancassurance. This effort is a part of  Gates Foundation’s access to finance for women agenda.

It seeks to raise women’s economic status, increase healthcare access, and provide them with more financial security—all of which will contribute to healthier families and communities. 

In order to give its clients the security and assistance they require, Brac Bank has made a commitment to financial inclusion and women’s empowerment that is in line with the goals of the Gates Foundation.
