Alo has named Benedetta Petruzzo as chief executive of its international business, tasking the former Miu Miu chief with overseeing the activewear brand’s global growth strategy.

The Los Angeles-based wellness and activewear company confirmed the appointment on Saturday. In her new role, Petruzzo will be responsible for scaling Alo’s international operations, with a focus on client experience, market strategy and brand identity, while continuing to develop its wellness category.

Alo currently ships to 128 countries and operates more than 100 stores across 26 markets, reflecting the brand’s rapid expansion beyond the United States. The company has been steadily increasing its presence in key global fashion capitals as it seeks to position itself at the intersection of luxury, wellness and performance wear.

Petruzzo joins Alo from Dior, where she had served as managing director since October 2024. Prior to that, she was chief executive of Miu Miu, the Prada Group-owned brand that experienced significant commercial momentum under her leadership. During her tenure, Miu Miu saw revenues nearly double in the first half of 2024, driven in part by strong demand from younger consumers and the popularity of products such as its cut-off “micro skirts,” which gained traction across social media platforms.

Her appointment signals Alo’s intention to sharpen its luxury credentials as it expands internationally. In September last year, the brand introduced Alo Atelier, a higher-end line that included leather handbags priced up to $3,600. The move marked a notable shift for a company best known for yoga-inspired apparel and athleisure.

Alongside product diversification, Alo has continued to invest in physical retail. The company is preparing to open its first flagship store in Paris, located on the Champs-Élysées, with plans to launch near the end of this year or in early 2027. The opening is expected to play a key role in strengthening the brand’s visibility in Europe.

With Petruzzo at the helm of its international division, Alo is aiming to build on its existing global footprint while refining its positioning across markets. Her background in leading European luxury houses is expected to support the brand’s ambitions as it navigates the competitive global activewear and lifestyle market.
