Applications have officially opened for the Women in Finsure (WIF) Scholarship, an exclusive initiative developed to support women hoping to build a career in mortgage broking.
The program is backed by a number of major partners, including AAMC Training Group, the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), ODIN, and ORDE Financial. Submissions are now being accepted, with the deadline set for 5pm AEST on 30th June.
The announcement follows a period of rapid growth for Finsure, which saw its loan book grow by 26% to $139 billion, alongside the recruitment of more than 1,000 new brokers.
Encouraging Women to Step Into the Industry
Each of the two successful candidates will receive a scholarship package valued at over $15,000 (plus GST), comprising education, mentorship, business setup assistance, and professional support to help launch their mortgage broking careers.
Described as an exclusive initiative within the Finsure network, the scholarship aims to empower more women to enter and thrive in the mortgage industry. As of March 2024, there are 3,749 female mortgage brokers working in Australia—making up 26.7% of the broker population and marking the highest female representation in the sector since 2018.
But the Women in Finsure program extends beyond mere financial support. “Whether you’re a mother who needs a flexible work arrangement… or a single operator who feels like they’re missing a sense of connection and support, our Women in Finsure community is all about giving our brokers the support and tools they need to propel themselves and their business forward,” said Finsure.
What the Scholarship Offers
Recipients will receive a robust support package, including:
- Education & Qualifications: Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, and Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Management
- Mentoring & Events: Two years of training via the Finsure Broker Academy, quarterly one-on-one mentoring with Finsure and industry leaders, annual mentoring with Finsure CEO Simon Bednar, and invitations to Women in Finsure events and Finsure PD days.

- Industry Membership: One-year MFAA membership.
